My passion for design dates back to my childhood growing up in Mobile, Alabama, where I was influenced by the city's beautiful architecture and southern interiors. I rearranged my bedroom constantly, and at the age of 13, I begged my mother to allow me to work as a "duster" on Saturday afternoons in one of the city's premier antiques shops, which was filled to the gills with English porcelains and furniture. Frequent trips to New Orleans and living outside of London after high school inspired my love at a young age for beautiful art, antiques and decoration.
After graduating from Amherst College with a major in Fine Arts, I worked in investment banking for eight years before furthering my design education at the New York School of Interior Design and Parsons School of Design. For the past 30 years I have worked with numerous clients, many of them for several years at a time and on multiple homes. Projects include residences in New York City; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Los Angeles; the Hamptons; Palm Beach, Palm Springs and the Westchester and Fairfield County suburbs.
My design style is classic with a modern and youthful touch, putting emphasis on color, comfort, contemporary accent pieces, and overall cohesiveness. I work intimately with clients, and strive for beautiful interiors which reflect their personal styles and accommodate their budgets. At the end of the day, I hope my clients have sophisticated but practical rooms that enable them to entertain and enjoy living in their homes.
